Regrettable Non-Purchase

This months link-up is all about boots and booties! Boots are one of the best things about fall! This past weekend me and my hubby were preparing for our little bonfire and we needed some wood. It wasn't my very manly hubby that ran up and down a little hill, off a road close to our house looking for wood. No, it was this Katniss. Wearing tall brown boots just makes me feel a little more adventurous. So this post I want to share a few of my favorite boots, including a pair of Jessica Simpson booties I decided not to buy and I sure wish that they would jump into my closet now :(

Booties

Jessica Simpson boots / Giuseppe Zanotti platform bootie / Sam Edelman fringe booties / Reiss platform bootie / Charlotte Russe peep toe bootie / Luichiny studded heels / Zigi Soho red platform boots / Charlotte Russe slip on boots
I'm also in love with our master match-up Marion's booties in the color oxblood here. She is so adorable with her pregnant belly!

Versatility

As a "blogger" I like to follow others for inspiration and also to get my little blog on others radar. I have seen that a lot of bloggers don't wear the same pieces in their wardrobe a lot....sometimes ever. Being a mom of two small kids and a 25 year old, my bank account just won't allow that. So I would like to share two examples of clothes I've worn two ways in the past week. On the days where I work I wear a very casual look during the day and then change the pants to make it more dressed up, like some people would do to "go out", if you wonder why this is in parenthesis please refer to third sentence.
You see little Hulk in the corner :) I felt a little uncomfortable with the length of this tunic here.
So I ended up tucking it under and wearing black undershirt.

I think it was meant to be worn with leggings, which I have before.

Top Old Navy / Jeans American Eagle / Shoes Jcrew (not in stores anymore) but here are some pretty close/ dress pants are from TJMaxx a brand called Dahlia...I love ankle pants and I can barely find anything in my pant size at TJ Maxx so these were a great find for under $20!

I wore this sweater earlier in the week here and it is proving to be a favorite, I might need to order in a few more colors. Jeans American Eagle now I thought I loved the jeggings like these but the skinny jeans are my favorite! Button up is Old Navy (old) loving this one from Gap / Boots Gap/ Necklace Ann Taylor Outlet/ Sweater Target

The last two are me showing off my new Alabama shirt and Jamey asked why Jack's sand bottle was on here and not his, so here it is! Beautiful!

Chiaha

In our little town there are a lot of fall festivals around us, but our biggest one is Chiaha! I know I look forward to it every year and the past two years have been...a little disappointing thanks to the weather. Two years ago it was wet and there were big puddles everywhere....last year it was way too hot for fall anything, this year it was perfect! We got yummy kettle corn, a fried apples pie, hot cider, and a giant cup of coffee for this girl. There's always a huge kids tent with fun activities to do including balloon animals! Last year we waited in line for thirty minutes just to get done with half the line so this year we ran and got in  line while the kids went around and did fun the activities. Little patience and the kids got balloon swords, which Jack then popped within five minutes. Kids! I decided to go with bright pants because I tend to wander off and it's so much easier to find me with bright red pants on. My outfit was also pinterest inspired! I love pinterest,if you get stuck on what to wear or what to cook they have so many ideas! Here's my inspiration and some pictures from the festival, I did have to put my jacket on over top because it was COLD!

I had to include all pictures of me with the boys...notice he hits me in the head with popcorn. Oh what a great weekend!

Plain Jane

I've never claimed to be great with hair or makeup, heck I don't even know or like all the new fashion treads. I just love clothes and finding new ways to put things together. The other night at work, my coworker and I were talking about hair and what our routines are. Personally I know nothing. I tried teasing and curling, it never worked. This is my hair just curl dried in the front and partially dried in the back....that's it! I hardly ever use my straighter or even hairspray. Holli, has a little bit more difficult hair that she has to do a lot more to. I don't think I would survive if I had take more than ten minutes on my hair. Does anyone have any advise for difficult hair? Any miracle conditioner?

This outfit was so super comfy all day. I finally changed into my pajamas around 8 and normally I'm in pjs before 6. Pants, earrings, and necklace are all current at American Eagle, sweater is Old Navy, and black tank is Gap. I wore my black toe flats from American Eagle because my Rocketdog all black flats were hidden in my sons' toy box.
Had to share a picture that just came up on my facebook feed...Didn't know my dad was Colonel Sanders? Neither did I!

Halloween Ready!

Sometimes being a stay at home mommy can be so overwhelming and taking a step back does a world of good. It happens to me all the time. Two boys that have so much energy and life, let's just say my fuse is a little short sometimes. Jamey, my three year old has wanted Hot Wheels wall tracks all week and he thinks Santa will bring it to him if he's good....tomorrow. He also told me today an inside puppy will also do. Nope not happening (I'm a huge animal person and if a cute puppy was in our front yard I would be whistling another tune but a calm Jessica says no puppy if no fence.) Anyway, Jamey has asked for this "Hot wheels" all day...going to eat, okay and then Hot wheels? Taking a bath, and then Hot wheels? This all leads to a very long day for Mommy. Here are some pictures from last night supper, carving pumpkins and decorating our front yard...oh and playing pranks on daddy and Jack was innocent bystander :)

Yummy garlic, onion, zucchini, broccoli, cheese, and quinoa bake!

Shh  that's no silly string!

We had a super fun night! Is everyone else ready for Halloween?

Too much?

Sweater Target/ Skirt JCPenney / Boots old close / All jewelry Stella and Dot also a Pandora bracelet
Short post today, partially because my youngest just took off his diaper. Yeah that's his new thing, and I just saw it out of the corner of my eye. Anyway I'm in love with houndstooth and found this skirt and had to get it! JCPenney doesn't normally go below a 4 in anything in women's so when I stumbled across this skirt, I had fingers and toes crossed! There it was on an xl hanger...an xs, so pumped! I didn't take a very great picture but I also bought a watch at a yardsale for .50. It needed a battery and a few links out but hey I work at a jewelry store! Great buy! We also got a few of our amazing pictures back! So excited! Lola Photography knocked it out of the park! I would appreciate if she got a few extra likes on her page ;)

Birchbox fail :(

I was so excited about getting in my Birchbox after reading about it on Skylette's Blog  I decided to give it a shot. Here's what I got:

So pretty! I was so excited!

Hmm...not too impressed. Keep in mind other people got whole bottles of cleansers, a eyeshadow and eyeliner duo full sized, and a beautyblender, which I really wanted. Like my giant designer Ziplock bag? I'm going to give it another month or two, but my excitement will be down. I had a blast taking the boys to the park again today and being there for the first visit to the park for the newest Orange.

So sweet! Just a little side note, these Gap jeans were my steal of the summer! Bought them for $6! Shirt Old Navy (Spring 2012)/ Sweater Gap Outlets/ Necklace TJ Maxx/ Shoes American Eagle/ Sunnies Steve Madden
